Applications for high-performance composite materials in naval components are increasing rapidly. Due to the high strength and stiffness of composite materials in connection with the low weight and the noncorrosiveness, components such as masts, pressure vessels, hydraulic cylinders and torsion shafts are processed. The particular electromagnetic characteristics of composite materials in connection with the weight and noncorrosiveness makes the use of these high-performance materials very interesting in the application of radomes and antennas.
